The Knight of the Splendent Heart is one of the most formidable Rank A Notorious Mark encounters featured on the Hunt Board in Final Fantasy 16. This high-tier dragoon opponent demands precise timing, sharp spatial awareness, and proper side quest progression before players can challenge him. Understanding how to unlock his location and counter his aggressive aerial assaults is crucial for securing a victory.

How to Unlock the Knight of the Splendent Heart Hunt

Unlocking this battle requires completing specific narrative milestones in Clive's journey. Players must first reach the final main scenario mission, Back to Their Origin, to make the mark available. Additionally, you must finish the Under New Management questline by speaking with Isabella in Northreach. Once these prerequisites are fulfilled, the target will appear on the Hunt Board at the Hideaway.

Exact Map Location in Sanbreque

To locate the Knight of the Splendent Heart, travel to the Holy Empire of Sanbreque region. Fast travel to either the Royal Meadows or Northreach obelisk to begin your approach. Head northeast toward The Penitent's Gate leading into the capital city. You will find the knight standing prominently along the main stone pathway right outside the gate structure.

Combat Strategy and Avoiding Mirage Attacks

This elite dragoon utilizes devastating dive attacks, including Mirage Dive and Phantom March, which rain down visual markers across the battlefield. When vertical blue lines appear on the ground, maintain constant lateral movement and execute precision dodges right as the mirages strike. Always prepare for a delayed final blow after the initial wave of illusions subsides. Following these aerial assaults, the knight frequently executes rapid forward lunges that can be countered using Titan's Titanic Block or precision parries.

Rewards for Defeating the Dragoon

Vanquishing this challenging Notorious Mark grants substantial character growth and valuable resources. Clive receives 9,000 Experience Points, 105 Ability Points, and two Meteorite crafting materials. Additionally, completing the quest rewards 17,000 Gil and 35 Renown to spend at the Desiree counter.
